About the Role:
As a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with our SEN teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality educational support to students with a range of special educational needs. Your role will be pivotal in providing personalised assistance, facilitating learning activities, and promoting the social and emotional development of students.
Key Responsibilities for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant :
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, assisting them with academic tasks, social interactions, and personal care as needed.
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions under the guidance of the SEN teacher.
- Implement Educational Healthcare and Behaviour plans management strategies to support students' progress and achievement.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated support for students with SEN.
Qualifications and Skills for a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Southall:
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting.
- Hold a relevant qualification such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of students with SEN.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
