Smart Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary SEMH PRU in West Bromwich.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and helping them achieve positive outcomes in education.

 About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support KS3 and KS4 pupils within a specialist PRU setting. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work closely with teachers to support learning, promote positive behaviour, and help pupils develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

 Job Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs

  • Support KS3 and KS4 pupils within a PRU environment

  • Assist teachers with delivering engaging lessons

  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively

  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development

 Requirements for a Learning Support Assistant
  • Experience working within an SEMH environment

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Ability to respond calmly to challenging situations

  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
