Fox Morris Group are working to recruit a School Improvements Adviser

Job Purpose:

About The role:

  • Fulfil the duties of Improvement Adviser to a specific number of primary and lower schools in order to support and challenge schools in monitoring, evaluation and planning for improvement. 
  • Represent the local authority at key school events such as headship appointments and Ofsted feedbacks in order to provide high quality advice and support and build leadership capacity within the borough;
  • Analyse all available data and other information in support of the identification of school improvement priorities and to ensure that the local authority is well informed about the performance of its schools and is well placed to provide early intervention where needed in Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2;

Qualifications:

  • Qualified teacher status, with a degree or equivalent;

THE EXPERIENCE

  • Successful teaching experience, including headship in the primary phase in Early Years, Key stages 1 and 2 and/or significant experience in a local authority or other organisation concerned with school improvement;
  • Experience of coaching, training and supporting senior leaders, teachers, support staff and others in bringing about improvements in their practice;
  • Experience of working with schools in developing strategies to ensure smooth and effective transition between and with phases of education;
  • Experience of helping schools build and improve leadership capacity and develop effective CPD; working in close collaboration with partners including the teaching school;
  • Experience of evaluating whole-school performance using a range of information and detailed data analysis in order to help schools identify suitable strategies for improvement, with evidence of having had significant impact in this area;
  • Experience of working constructively and professionally with senior school staff, governors, colleagues and external agencies in bringing about improvement;
