Technical Officer – Asset Handover

Location: Midland Metro Ltd, Wednesbury Depot, Potters Lane, WS10 0AR
Salary: £45,000 per annum + Benefits!
Contract: 18 Months, FTC, Full Time

We are now recruiting for a Technical Officer to support the successful handover of assets and associated activities that form part of the Metro expansion.

You will be the key point of coordination, supporting documentation and verification processes, as well as contributing to the efficient handover and management of technical information.

In addition to this as our Technical Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Handover Activities: Actively participate in onsite handover activities including snagging, remedies and other associated tasks.
  • Coordination: Acting as a central point of coordination and contact between MML internal departments and external parties.
  • Information Management: Providing information verification services for received project documents, drawings and data, ensuring compliance with DC workflows.
  • Project Controls: Collating feedback and comments from MML internal teams and relaying these to TfWM and MMA.
  • Project Support: Supporting the Project Support Officer and Document Coordinator in uploading received technical information into the Common Data Environment (CDE), ensuring compliance with Building Information Modelling (BIM).

In order to be successful in our Technical Officer role you must have / be:

  • Experience of asset handover for large scale infrastructure, rail / metro / civil engineering or highways projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or professional path progression.
  • Solid working knowledge of Bently ProjectWise or another recognised document management and information control programme.
  • Understanding of ISO 19650 standards and their application to asset handover and document control.
  • Familiarity with Project Management tools together with platforms used for document control.
  • Sound knowledge of Document Control practices and their integration into asset lifecycle management.
  • Strong organisational skills with demonstrable attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating across teams and stakeholders.

It would be great if you had:

  • Solid experience in 2D CAD.
  • Knowledge and working experience in 3D CAD.
