Our friendly and high performing income management team are responsible for income collection as well as providing guidance to customers on subjects like benefits and income maximisation. You’ll manage a patch of around 1000 homes, taking the time to develop strong relationships with customers. Your role will include offering advice and support to those facing difficulties with rent payments, with a focus on tenancy sustainment.
Experience in housing or benefits advice would be beneficial. We are looking for someone who can think independently to solve problems and work collaboratively with other departments. You should be able to come up with solutions while delivering the best customer experience.
This is a vital role, and is essential in helping us provide safe, secure and warm homes to over 100,000 people. More than that, it’s about building trust, developing relationships and enabling people to achieve more and build a brighter future for themselves.
This role is a full-time, 14-month fixed-term contract role covering Tewkesbury, Gloucester City Centre and the surrounding areas. An Enhanced DBS check will be sourced for the successful applicant.
In this role, we want you to bring:
- Experience in a front-line customer-facing role within a general needs housing environment, or a similar background relevant to income collection
- An understanding of housing benefit, universal credit and welfare reform legislation would be an advantage
- Strong communication skills, with colleagues and customers alike, in an engaging and welcoming way
- A positive attitude and a consistent, engaged team player. Proactive and able to prioritise your workload
- A willingness to find a solution for customer's individual needs, including effectively negotiating repayment arrangements
- Good IT skills, attention to detail, and an excellent work ethic
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
