Fixed Term 12 Months (Maternity cover)
Full Time 37 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated family practitioner. The post is a 12 month fixed term maternity cover position within the Recruitment Assessment and Family Finding Service covering ASW region.
You will be supporting the L.A with their permanence plans for children and seeking adoptive families.
You will require a level of autonomy and a basic understanding of the legal process.
Relationship building will be essential in many aspects of the role including Children’s child care teams across Local Authorities and providing advice and support in adoption. To communicate and negotiate with a wide range of multi-agency professionals in order to be able to draw together and co-ordinate the implementation of an adoption plan.
The role will include supporting children and families during the adoption process. You will need to be assertive and provide a level of challenge to ensure positive outcomes.
Family Practitioners will work closely with foster carers and social workers to gain an understanding of the child’s past experiences.
You will be required to keep up to date and accurate electronic records of individual families.
You will be expected to participate and attend meetings as appropriate in relation to the families you work with.
You will be supported in your role by an experienced team of Family finding social workers.
You will receive monthly supervision and guidance to fulfil your role and additional training as appropriate and specific to adoption.
