This post is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of supporting practice for people with disabilities including learning disability, autism/ADHD, physical disability, and hearing/sight impairment.
As such, this is a key role, sitting alongside other Practice Leads and Advanced Practitioners. You will make a significant difference in terms of driving practice change, continuous improvement and service development; all informed by current evidence- based policy, guidance, methodology and research.

The role will focus on:
• Ensuring that effective practice for people with disabilities is seen as an organisational priority and that continuous improvement is integral to practice.
• Providing advice, support and physical presence in the community and county wide teams to develop the skills, and confidence to support people with disabilities who have complex needs.
• Helping drive the culture change to promote greater independence and progression model through a strength-based approach with better access to information and advice, communitybased options and TEC solutions.
• Ensuring that managers are monitoring risk to timely, safe, and effective service delivery, alerting more senior managers to risk and issues as these arise or increase.
• Analysing relevant practice and performance data to identify strengths and weaknesses in operational practice.
• Providing expert professional, technical and practice advice to staff encompassing guidance about the requirements of policy and legislation.
• Advising, and on occasion leading, co-ordinating, and managing arrangements to resolve casework situations where there is the high level of risk and complexity.
• Reviewing the quality of practice against required standards, providing feedback and supporting and monitoring improvement where required.
About you:
You must be a registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Nurse, with a real passion for people, quality and practice improvement.
You will have experience of managing people and a proven ability to drive change. You will be able to use ‘coaching’ type skills in supporting staff to develop their practice.
You will need to demonstrate good communication across all mediums (electronic, written, verbal) with an ability to take account of the audience that is receiving the information.
