About the Role:
Initially a 4 month contract with scope to be extended. You will be a key member of the team helping us transform the business and finding solutions making the world a smarter place for tomorrow. Covering a wide range of products, from initial enquiry to delivery and installation, including new product designs, robot cell designs, AMR/AGV’s carriers, grippers & accessories, bespoke control panels, as well as enhancing our award-winning modular robot system ‘Hyve’ and International Red Dot winning product ‘Deft’.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record in a similar role and have a knowledge of the industry, be exceptionally organised and an enthusiastic individual who possesses an excellent work ethic.
Main Duties:
- You will be responsible for the technical deliverables of projects, ensuring the work meets or exceeds requirements, on time and to budget
- Liaise with customer and technical team to source their technical requirements
- Identification and specification of technology and equipment needed to deliver identified requirements
- Operation and maintenance of robotic demonstration facilities
- Risk identification and management of issues as they arise
- Support creation of technical documents, project meetings and customer witness testing
- Manage designs from initial concept trough to production
- Design and test prototypes
- To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements
- To carry out any other reasonable management request
Essential Job Specific Skills & Qualification:
- As a minimum, degree in Computer Science, Simulation, Robotics & Automation, a relevant Engineering degree or similar discipline, or equivalent in terms of either other qualifications and/or experience.
- To be successful in this role, you must have 5+ years experience in robotics technology, in particular: mechanical & electrical integration, machine vision, programming (ROS, C++, Python), path motion/ planning
- Experience of simulation tools would be beneficial but is not essential
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Self-motivated and a self-starter, with the ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines, and quality expectations, both within a team, or independently.
- Have a creative approach to problem solving
- Flexibility to undertake ad-hoc UK & European travel as required
