Community Library Officer

Camden

£17 per hour (umbrella)

Part Time Contract ( 1-2 month long) - 16 hours per week

Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Community Library Officer in Camden. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours. The employer can offer hybrid working.

The job:

• Supporting the development and delivery of a local community library business plan in collaboration with local residents and partners
• Develop and work closely with/supervise volunteers to deliver community projects and digital offer in the library
• Work with children and families including baby bounce, under 5s and reading activities with children of all ages
• Organise and deliver outreach activities to promote the library beyond the current user group
• Assist library users in the use of self-service technology e.g. kiosks, public computers, printers, scanners and others

The candidate:

• Experience of working in a library or similar customer/user focused setting
• Strong customer service and communication skills including workshopping, presentations and outreach
• Experience of organising and delivering community activities and also skills in supporting others with the use of digital technology
• Experience working with different groups in the community (e.g. older people; children and families; Black, Asian and other ethnic communities)
