About the School: Our school is a vibrant and supportive learning environment catering to children aged 11-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are committed to providing personalised education that meets each student's unique needs and helps them achieve their full potential.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Runcorn Age Group: 11-19 Specialisms: SLD, MLD, ASD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SLD, MLD, and ASD in their daily learning activities.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
  • Assist in the development of social skills and independence.
  • Provide one-on-one support where needed to enhance learning and personal development.
  • Engage with students in both academic and extracurricular activities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly SLD, MLD, and ASD.
  • A caring and patient nature.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

To be considered for this position you will:
- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
-Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
-have satisfactory references
-have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
