Are you ready to kickstart your career in education? Look no further- GSL Education are seeking to appoint SEN Learning Support Assistants at an outstanding Primary School based in Stockport to provide support to the primary pupils. As a Learning Support Assistant you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and students in KS1/KS2. The school has great facilities & close to public transport, the school’s focus is to give a nurturing approach to learning whilst making learning fun. This school currently has an Ofsted report rated ‘Good’.
 
Successful applicants will support Class Teachers, ensuring pupils are interacting in the lessons, supporting the children's needs, and encouraging their learning. Previous experience in a similar role is desired but not essential.

The Role:

  • Location: Stockport
  • Salary: £95-£115 per day
  • Start Date: September
  • Contract Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with a range of SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively
  • Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the classroom environment
  • Encourage children’s independence, self-confidence, and social integration

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting is desired but not essential
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with children
  • Enhanced DBS check (GSL Education can support you with this)
