NRPF and Refugee Resettlement Support Officer


I am recruiting for a local authority who is looking for someone to join The NRPF Refugee and Migrant Service.The service will help the council to end rough sleeping and destitution in the borough, it will enable successful integration of refugees and migrants, build social cohesion in our communities and share best practice with other local authorities.

You will support the council's response to large scale asylum accommodation in the borough and provide a casework response across service areas.

You will be responsible for:

Making informed casework interventions to improve outcomes for people who are at risk of homelessness or destitution.

Supporting a programme of activities that will promote the welfare of refugees and migrants in Islington and working with partners to expand the service offer.

Addressing new and emerging issues for the council based on an understanding of available resources and policy and legislative frameworks.

Analysing and integrating data and other sources of information to shape service delivery, including using the Home Office portal to correctly identify asylum trends that may increase pressure on council services, with recommendations on optimum responses made.

Maintaining accurate information about services available to refugees and migrants in the borough on webpages, new bulletins and / or through the dissemination of information to asylum hotels or community centres.

Giving information on support options for people who do not have settled immigration status in the UK so solutions can be found to complex cases where eligibility for support is not clear or easily defined.

Helping to secure onward accommodation for people who no longer require support in the borough or through resettlement or other statutory support services, with successful interventions ensuring that homelessness in Islington remains the lowest in London.
