Are you passionate about making a positive impact on students’ lives and supporting their educational journey? They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join this dynamic team at an incredible independent SEMH school in this community.

As a 1:1 LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance and encouragement they need to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, or language barriers.

Assist classroom teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting teaching materials to accommodate students’ learning styles and abilities.

Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Collaborate closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), classroom teachers, and other LSAs to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting students’ academic and social-emotional development.

Monitor students’ progress, behaviour, and well-being, and provide regular feedback to teachers and SENCO to inform intervention strategies and adjustments to support plans.

Encourage independence and self-confidence in students by promoting self-advocacy skills and offering positive reinforcement and encouragement.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Relevant experience working with children or young adults, particularly those with special educational needs, is essential.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students’ individual learning journeys.
* Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic school environment, collaborating with a diverse range of students and staff.
* A proactive and positive attitude, with a commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
