An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Asset Engineer to come and join a busy client in the Merseyside area to Support the preparation of highway asset databases and assist with asset lifecycle planning providing technical advice and information to colleagues across the highways functions.

The main duties and responsibilities of the experienced Highway Asset Engineer are:

• Carry out inspections, surveys and investigations and analyses of data and results in connection with the service's programmes of work.
• Design infrastructure maintenance and improvement schemes and systems in compliance with current standards, guidance and advice and in accordance with the Construction Design and Management Regulations.
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of construction materials and act as a source of advice to colleagues; identifying solutions and preparing estimates, which result in efficient and effective schemes of work.
• Support in the preparation, development and implementation of a long-term Highway Asset Management Plan (HAMP).
• Provide data and technical information to support the assessment and prioritisation process for maintenance and improvement works, both on planned and reactive works in order to effectively maintain the Council's highway asset.
• Support the process of public consultation related to Public Rights of Way schemes and improvement.
• Maintain, develop and update all highway asset databases including: Local Street Gazeteer, illuminated and other signs, flood assets and main highway asset inventory.

The above position is hybrid working. You will be required to be office based 1-2 days a week.
