About the School:

The school creates life-changing opportunities for children and young people aged 5-25 with a range of additional educational needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health ( SEMH ) and Autism.

The school provides a secure and supportive educational setting that address the comprehensive needs of young people, whilst offering a broad and varied curriculum within state-of-the-art educational and therapeutic facilities.

Position Overview:

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour resulting from additional educational needs. You will be a caring, resilient and committed individual, who in return will be empowered to undertake the role of inspiring pupils to make incredible progress!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement tailored strategies for students with autism who demonstrate challenging behaviour.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly within special education settings.
  • Understanding and empathy for pupils with autism, SEMH and other additional learning and behavioural difficulties.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Daily Rate of Pay: £83.33 - £95 per day

Start Date: June 2024
