Our client's company is a respected construction firm dedicated to delivering high-quality projects that support scientific innovation and discovery. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for pushing boundaries, they are proud to be leading the fit-out of a new science lab that will facilitate groundbreaking research in Oxford.

Role Overview:

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all on-site activities related to the fit-out of the science lab, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. Working closely with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering a world-class facility that meets the needs of researchers and scientists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the construction site, including coordination of subcontractors, scheduling of work activities, and implementation of health and safety procedures.
  • Oversee the fit-out of the science lab, including installation of specialized equipment, laboratory furniture, and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure that design specifications are met and that work is carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor progress against established milestones and proactively identify and address any issues or delays.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that work meets the required standards of quality and workmanship.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, progress photos, and as-built drawings.
  • Liaise with project managers and stakeholders to provide regular updates on project status and address any concerns or inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction projects, with specific experience in fit-outs or laboratory construction preferred.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve excellence.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Valid CSCS card and relevant certifications.
