Exciting Opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant in a SEND School - Immediate Start in Halton!

Position: Learning Support Assistant Location: Halton Sector: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) School Start Date: Immediate

About the Role: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure each student receives the individual attention they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the needs of SEND students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to help students with their learning activities.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment to promote student confidence and independence.
  • Help with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support students with their personal care needs, if required.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development is an advantage.

- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
-Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
-have satisfactory references
-have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
