Accelerate Teaching is seeking a skilled and passionate Design and Technology (DT) Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Wakefield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong background in DT who is eager to support students and teachers in delivering exceptional educational experiences.
Role Responsibilities:
- Support Classroom Activities: Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of DT lessons, ensuring that all materials and equipment are ready and available.
- Maintain Equipment: Regularly check, clean, and maintain all DT equipment, including tools, machinery, and ICT resources, ensuring they are safe and in good working order.
- Resource Management: Organise and manage materials and resources, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels efficiently.
- Health and Safety: Implement and adhere to all health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments and ensuring a safe working environment for students and staff.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical support during practical lessons and projects, offering guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Project Support: Assist students with their projects, offering advice on techniques and materials, and helping to foster a creative and engaging learning environment.
- Administrative Tasks: Support the DT department with various administrative duties, including record-keeping and inventory management.

Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a DT Technician or in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong technical skills and familiarity with a range of DT equipment and materials.
