Accelerate Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for an inspiring and dedicated Teacher of Geography to join a dynamic secondary school in Wakefield, starting in September 2024. As a Teacher of Geography, you will play a crucial role in nurturing students' understanding of the world around them. We are seeking a candidate who can bring the subject to life, fostering curiosity and critical thinking in a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging geography lessons that cater to a diverse range of learners.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance students' understanding and interest in geography.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Participate in school-wide activities, such as field trips, to enrich the students' learning experience.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and respect.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant degree in geography or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  • Proven experience teaching geography at the secondary school level.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to professional development and a collaborative approach to teaching.
