The Opportunity
Due to successful project expansion, a fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Planner to join a leading engineering consultancy driven by dynamic team of nuclear specialists.

The role
As a Planner, you will be reporting to the Project Controls Lead, responsible at tender stage for the range of activities involved in the project planning life cycle.

Estimated Duration- 6 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35

Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • As a Planner, you will be ensuring that the Contract Programme is produced, managed, and maintained in accordance with the planning procedures.
  • The overall planning strategy and the timing & sequence of the Contract Programme activities
  • The issue and communication of the Contract Programme to the Project Lead for onward issue to Client and Project Team.
  • Ensuring that all other project planning and programming necessary for the execution of the contract is properly undertaken.
  • Set up appropriate visual programme to assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve productivity, performance, and safety of projects.
  • Ensuring all reporting requirements are accurately captured.
  • Establish, implement & manage EVM reporting throughout the lifecycle of the project.
You will have the following skills and experience
  • Experienced with Primavera P6
  • Experience, across all stages of the project life cycle.
  • Substantial experience of planning services in medium to large sized projects within the construction industry 1m – 20m.
  • Experience in managing schedules on NEC Projects.
  • Good experience in the use of planning techniques and the relevant planning toolset.
  • Good understanding of the various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications
  • Good understanding of the various methods of planning, programme, and progress monitoring
  • Good understanding of risk and opportunity management with reference to planning & programming
  • Good understanding of the events that initiate, and of the methods used to demonstrate, delay, or change entitlement.
  • Good understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment, and labour requirements
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular; Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering / construction related discipline.
  • Strong communication skills, including writing reports & presenting.
It's great if you also have the following
  • Awareness of Project Management principles (PRINCE2 / APM)
  • A basic understanding of various contract types & contract law.
  • You must be a sole British national and either have SC or be able to obtain SC.
