Electrical Fitter

Orion Rail is looking for an Electrical Fitter to be a part of a small technical team within a fast-paced depot environment. As the Electrical Fitter you will be responsible for assisting in the day to day running of a busy rail depot. As the Electrical Fitter you will be helping Technicians carry out routine maintenance, repair and fault finding on large state-of-the-art, electrical-based vehicles.

You will also take part in the electrical modification of certain components. Take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional workmanship of oneself and others.

Key Responsibilities for the Electrical Fitter will include:

• Provide support to Technicans during Exams and Pre Planned Maintenance for Vehicles.
• Working on electrical systems, such as wiring looms
• Performing light fault finding
• Preparation of vehicle ready for servicing, exam work or maintenance
• Preparation of vehicle ready to go back into service.

Ideal Candidate for the Electrical Fitter position:

A diligent professional able to work well as an individual or in a team. Relevant experience required:

History of working with electrical drawings, devices and systems

Understanding of electrical principles

Computer literate and experience of using a maintenance management system for work recording.

Qualifications for the Electrical Fitter 

NVQ Level 3 award in an Electrical discipline desirable but not necessary.
