Our clients are specialists in their market sector, they are looking to appoint a Maintenance Technician on a fixed term contract until December, the position will be day shift.

The Job you’ll do

  • To work as a member of the maintenance team supporting Engineering & Production department carrying out breakdown & preventative maintenance to ensure a speedy response to maximum efficiency of machines for optimum output.
  • We are looking for an articulate, self-confident, and determined individual who will make an early positive contribution to the running of the department and with the potential for future continuous development.
  • Provide maintenance support to production by ensuring a fast and efficient response to equipment problems.
  • Carry out maintenance on all equipment.
  • Escalate any issues with maintenance within the agreed timeframes of the department to the relevant people.
  • Carry out regular preventative maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
  • Maintain correct and accurate document records in line with the maintenance activities carried out.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement suitable solutions.
  • Provide support to onsite engineering projects.
  • Provide engineering solutions to reoccurring incidents of equipment problems.
  • Recognise spares and part requirements.
  • Carry out ad hoc duties as when required which may not be listed above to meet business needs.
  • Be flexible in approach and hours to meet maintenance demands (including weekends where necessary).

About You

  • Educated to ONC/HNC level in an engineering discipline or equivalent (qualified by experience also considered).
  • Must have a maintenance background (both mechanical and electrical) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Ideally with a working knowledge of PLC and familiar with fault finding.
  • Experience of working within a high-volume manufacturing organisation.
  • Quick understanding of complex situation and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Must be a team player and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and conflicting priorities.
  • Problem solving skills are required, as well as an ability to communicate issues and corrective actions to management.
  • IT skills including all MS office and engineering related.
  • Fault finding/route cause analysis skills.
  • Self- starter, flexible approach and capable of managing own workload.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience in major overhaul / repair techniques would be advantageous.
