Job Title: Assistant Caretaker
Location: Leyton, East London
Employment Type: Part -time, Permanent
Shifts: Early and Late Shifts, with occasional flexibility required
Start Date: September 2024

As part of our dedication to maintaining the school premises, we are seeking a reliable and proactive Assistant Caretaker to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitising surfaces to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of school facilities, including minor plumbing, electrical, and building repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
- Unlock and secure the school premises at the beginning and end of each day, ensuring all doors, windows, and gates are properly secured.
- Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment for school events, meetings, and activities as required.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or maintenance needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Collaborate with the caretaking team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, providing support and assistance as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a caretaking or facilities maintenance role preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Basic understanding of maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, and building repairs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Flexible availability to work early and late shifts as required, with occasional weekend availability for special events.
