Carmichaels are seeking a Senior Engineer with Highways and Structures experience to work with a Tier 1 company in London.

Key Roles and Responsibilities will include:

• Working with the construction and design teams to develop the concept and detailed design and identify opportunities for construction.
• Co-ordinate and manage the collection of engineering site surveys across the 25 structures.
• Ensure compliance with approved safe systems of work.
• Implementing engineering site controls to ensure the successful delivery of site works.
• Communicating with the design teams to ensure survey specifications are met.
• Coordinating supply chain teams.
• Coordinating works access with Costain and TfL traffic and network managers.
• Develop and author construction delivery plans and products.
• Develop and review safe systems of works to support the construction delivery plan.
• Develop temporary works solutions and integrate the temporary works methods into the design and construction delivery plans.
• Development of robust working practices to support the design and construction teams to deliver a safe, efficient site.
• Support in developing construction sequence and logistics plans.
• Contribute to the preparation of cost estimates, forecasts and budgets.
• Identification of threats and opportunities associated with the construction delivery.

About you:

• Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc MSc, BEng, MEng).
• Professionally qualified or working towards.
• SMSTS, CSCS, Fit for work medical.
• Minimum 5 years’ site experience delivering infrastructure projects including:
• Knowledge and experience of Highways Construction
• Knowledge and experience of highway structure repair and refurbishment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• The ability to coordinate and control tasks
• Experience in some or all of the following:
• Complex Traffic Management
• Working within logistically constrained areas – urban environments.
• Knowledge and understanding of temporary works.
• Knowledge and understanding of a good range of highways structures disciplines.
• Willing to attend the team’s project office in Central London, work nights and weekends to support on site surveys and occasional visits to Client, Designer offices.
