Location: Farnborough, GU14 0LX

Project Description & Role Summary:

The FCAS-AP team within Catalyst DT will be primarily responsible for delivering next generation air vehicles, including 6th Generation, (crewed and potentially un-crewed) to undertake Control of the Air duties; and contribute to Attack and Information, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) replacing the capability currently provided by Typhoon (which will begin to retire from service from the mid-2030's).

A critical enabler to this responsibility will be the growth of the DI modelling and simulation (M&S) team. 3 SMEs are required to compliment and grow the current DI M&S team in support of the growing demands placed on them by the FCAS programme.

The role will be to undertake M&S tasks in order to provide the Delivery and Release Manager (DRM) with expertise in developing Threat Models. These models will span across Parametric and Analytic fidelities and applying them in a Synthetic Environment to deliver releasable (international) Threat Data in support of FCAS OA and ITEA activities.

Responsibilities & Outputs

As directed by the DRM the role will develop fit-for-purpose threat data & models in support of the FCAS Programme's OA through to Integrated Test, Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA) activities.

The M&S activities will generate models representative of threat systems directed and prioritised by the DRM including but not limited to:

  • Sensors
  • Signatures
  • Weapon
  • Electronic Attack and Defence
  • Command & Control (C2)
  • Aircraft Performance
  • Integrated Weapons Systems
