Teacher of PE & Humanities

Location: York, North Yorkshire

Start Date: September 2024

Salary: MPS: £30,000 per annum

Contract Type: 0.5 FTE

GSL Education are currently looking to recruit an experienced Physical Education & Humanities teacher to join a Secondary School’s Performance & Creative, and Humanities Faculties located in 19 miles north-east of York, North Yorkshire, for a September 2024 start.

  • Additionally, it strives to be both demanding and encouraging so that each person is constantly pushed to reach their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Specialization in Physical Education and Humanities (e.g., geography, history, religious studies).
  • Hold UK QTS through completing a BA/BSc Honours with QTS, a PGCE, or through a teaching programme such as SCITT, IIT or GTP.
  • Experience teaching PE and humanities subjects at the secondary school level.
  • Be able to differentiate accordingly for Special Educational Needs such as Learning Difficulties, Autism and SEMH.
  • Be able to provide a 6 year career history with relevant reference details, including your 2 most recent employers.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one. DBS sponsorship is available for this position.

Teacher of PE with Science Responsibilities:

  • Experience in teaching PE and Humanities subjects.
  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons that promote physical fitness, skill development, and sportsmanship.
  • Teach humanities subjects such as geography, history, or religious studies to students across different year groups.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and school objectives.
  • Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, such as sports teams, clubs, and tournaments.
  • Actively participate in school-wide extracurricular activities, events, and initiatives.
