Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Primary Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a 1-to-1 role, providing specialise support to a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational journey of a student with unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's social, emotional, and academic development.
  2. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistency and effectiveness in support strategies.
  3. Assist the student with organisation, time management, and task completion to facilitate independence and success in the classroom.
  4. Monitor and track the student's progress, adjusting support strategies as needed to optimise learning outcomes.
  5. Foster positive relationships with the student, building trust and rapport to facilitate a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to effectively engage with the student and collaborate with the wider school community.
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques and approaches to meet the unique needs and learning styles of the student.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or related field are advantageous.
