Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Primary Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a 1-to-1 role, providing specialise support to a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational journey of a student with unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the student's social, emotional, and academic development.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure consistency and effectiveness in support strategies.
- Assist the student with organisation, time management, and task completion to facilitate independence and success in the classroom.
- Monitor and track the student's progress, adjusting support strategies as needed to optimise learning outcomes.
- Foster positive relationships with the student, building trust and rapport to facilitate a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills to effectively engage with the student and collaborate with the wider school community.
- Ability to adapt teaching techniques and approaches to meet the unique needs and learning styles of the student.
- Relevant qualifications in education, special education, or related field are advantageous.
