Software Engineer

Onsite in Gloucestershire Contract £545-£660 per day inside IR35

We're currently seeking an accomplished and highly ambitious Software Engineer to work with our exceptional client, a world class brand in a secure environment to drive major business transformation, process and technical change across this complex organisation.

This contract roles will require you to conduct security clearance prior to assignment or hold a valid DV clearance. The Software Engineer role is conducted in an environment that is far from ordinary, therefore, we're not looking for ordinary. The role is based on site.

Key responsibilities:

* Software development on projects within a multi-disciplinary delivery team

* Respond to client requests, anticipating and meeting client problems and needs using innovative approaches when applicable.

* Hands on system development and support

* Involvement in all aspects of the development life cycle

* Share knowledge with colleagues and support team members and document solutions.

* Work alongside clients/directly for client personnel.

* Contribute to improve software development approaches and quality of deliverables.

Technical experience (essential):

* Proven experience of common development tools including Maven, Gradle, Git, Docker.

* Unit test tools and frameworks e.g. Junit.

* Experience of working in an Agile and Scrum environment.

* Knowledge of continuous integration tools - Jenkins, Bamboo.

* Experience with Java development.

* Comfortable developing on Linux platforms (Red Hat)

* Experience of Atlassian tool suite.

Desirable:

* Familiarity developing on Windows platforms.

* AWS knowledge (including Serverless Architecture, Dynamo DB).

* Understanding of the Enterprise Java Stack, with a proven expertise in using JEE technologies - * EJB, JMS, Webservices

* Mongo DB expertise

* Experience with Rust and/or C
