JOB ROLE:                   SENIOR COOK – CHILD SERVICES

LOCATION:                  SANDWELL

WORKING HOURS:     FLEXIBLE – BETWEEN 16 TO 31 HOURS

IMMEDIATE START     ONGOING CONTRACT

Are you a passionate and skilled cook looking to make a difference in children's lives? We are currently seeking a Senior Cook to join our client’s team at a vibrant children's centre.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Arts Centre welcomes school children that visit during the week with their school. Evening meal is at 5:15pm and their teachers choose meals before their visit. Because it's the same meal for the whole group and because they're away from home, they tend to choose things they know the children will like, such as:

Sausage & mash

 Fish fingers, wedges and peas

DUTIES OF THE ROLE:

• Prepare, cook and serve wholesome food for our young visitors on their school residential visit.
• Meals are selected in advance by schools with one or two options per afternoon.    
• Quality control all aspects of catering, cleaning and room presentation
• Manage all aspects of food hygiene, Environmental Health standards and regulations.
• Clean the kitchen and dining room to a high standard
• Control stock, requisition and receive goods.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

• Must hold Level 3 Food Hygiene and Catering Qualifications
• Have an Enhanced DBS with Child Barring
• Have a ‘Can do” attitude and be well organised
• Comfortable working alone and a part of a small team
• Must have strong understanding of food safety procedures
• Be determined to create a warm and welcoming environment for the you young visitors and their teachers

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role, along with a KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) check.
