General Foreman

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Foreman to oversee the execution of a large-scale water project. As the General Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and supervising all on-site activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and lead on-site construction teams, including subcontractors, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project schedules.
  2. Implement and enforce safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  3. Coordinate with project managers to interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications, and ensure accurate implementation on site.
  4. Manage material procurement, inventory, and utilisation to optimise resource allocation and minimise waste.
  5. Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project requirements.
  6. Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and effectively, maintaining open communication with all stakeholders.
  7. Provide regular progress reports to project management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  8. Mentor and train junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a foreman or supervisor on water or construction projects, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
  2. In-depth knowledge of water project construction processes, techniques, and equipment.
  3. Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards governing water infrastructure projects.
  4. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve project objectives.
  5. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges on-site.
  6. Attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability.
  7. Relevant certifications or training in construction management, safety procedures, or related fields is a plus.
