We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Design Engineer to join the team in Reading. In this role, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of innovative design solutions across various projects. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet technical requirements, budget constraints, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of complex engineering systems, components, and products.
  • Utilise advanced design tools and methodologies to optimise product performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct detailed feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including R&D, manufacturing, and procurement to ensure seamless integration of design solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in designing and implementing complex engineering solutions.
  • Extensive experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
  • Strong analytically and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Prior experience in [specific industry/sector] is highly desirable.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer status) is a plus.
