I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to work in the Southampton area. The perfect applicant will have knowledge and experience working on projects within wastewater or water treatment.

Role: Mechanical Project Engineer

Location: Southampton

Contract: Freelance

Rate: £450-£480per day

When: ASAP

Duties will include:

  • Managing the interfaces and integration of the mechanical design
  • Collaborate with the construction team to develop efficient and safe solutions throughout the design stages and into the construction phase
  • Develop various procurement scopes
  • Review returns
  • Specify equipment that is required for the project and the standard required
  • Work with the team to ensure a positive work environment
  • Ensure all policies are adhered to
  • Ensure all sub-contractor engineering designs meet required standards.
  • Meet and liaise with the Project Team to produce plans / programs.
  • Ensure the project has the most cost effective approach and this is done in a timely manner
  • Produce and maintain all required documentation

Skills Required:

  • Having a strong background of working within the water industry
  • Ideally have experience working with clean water
  • Knowledge of Reg 30 / WRAS
  • Safe delivery of water projects to time, cost, and quality
  • Be confident working in a team and adapting to more responsibility
  • Experience managing others within a team

Skills Desirable:

  • Ambitious and dynamic personality
  • Experience of working on Water Industry construction projects, preferably with experience of large and complex deliveries
  • Someone with a commitment to Right first time
