Controls Engineer

Salary £45,000-£60,000 plus overtime depending on experience.

DACS Ltd is a provider of electrical control solutions predominantly in the automotive sector.  DACS design, manufacture, install and maintain a range of high-performance automation and electrical systems throughout the UK and Europe.

Due to significant growth DACS are recruiting Controls Engineers, based in the Midlands.

You will be working from our office or on site near to the Birmingham NEC.

The role will be working in the automotive industry and the successful candidate must have experience with this type of automation, primarily conveyor system controls.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Controls Engineer located predominately in the Midlands.  The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for a manufacturing process.  The Controls Engineer will also work closely with installation teams to ensure that the project is integrated effectively and within budget.

Qualifications / experiences

  • High level electrical qualification (ONC / HNC / Degree)
  • Experience with PLC programming (predominantly Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens).
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA software (predominantly FactoryTalk View, Siemens Win CC, Wonderware).
  • Demonstrated expertise in control system design, development, and maintenance.
  • Excellent knowledge of industrial communication protocols (predominantly Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, Eplan or other electrical design software
  • Ability to work effectivity in a team environment and communicate ideas and solutions effectively.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is a must.

Benefits

£45,000-£60,000k + overtime, 25 days holiday + statutory days, pension.
