Our client a dynamic and forward-thinking building consultancy who are dedicated to leading the charge in decarbonisation efforts within the North West region are currently hiring for a Freelance Project Building Surveyor. Their focus lies in transforming local authority properties through innovative solutions such as heat pump installations, solar panels, and window replacements. 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Freelance Project Building Surveyor to join our team and play a pivotal role in our decarbonisation projects. As a Project Building Surveyor you will be tasked with completing designs, specifications, contract administration and contractor appointment on Decarbonisation projects. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of PSDS (Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme) projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Completing designs and specifications for decarbonization initiatives, ensuring they meet sustainability goals while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Overseeing contract administration, including the preparation of tender documents, contract negotiation, and monitoring project progress to ensure compliance with timelines and budgets.
  • Appointing contractors and managing their performance throughout the project lifecycle, fostering strong working relationships to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate project activities effectively and address any challenges that arise.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure the successful implementation of PSDS projects, contributing to the overall achievement of decarbonization objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying or related field.
  • Proven experience in project building surveying, with a track record of managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, sustainability standards, and construction practices related to decarbonization initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Relevant professional certifications or memberships (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) preferred.
