About the role

We are seeking a committed individual to join our Osborne Grove Night Shelter team as an Assessment & Move-On Worker. This role is more than a position; it's an opportunity to profoundly impact the lives of those experiencing homelessness by offering them the support and resources necessary for a positive transition.

In this role, you will work closely with individuals to conduct thorough assessments and collaboratively develop detailed action plans. Your contributions will not only address immediate needs but will also navigate the intricacies of housing legislation, welfare benefits, and move-on options to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.

The essence of this role lies in the unseen qualities of an individual – the self-motivation to excel, the resilience to maintain focus under pressure, and the empathetic approach to every interaction. While experience in supporting vulnerable groups is vital, it's the inherent ability to connect, understand, and innovate that is truly valued.

This position demands a balance of assertiveness and creativity, as you'll not only identify but actively pursue suitable move-on options within targeted timescales. Your work will be characterised by maintaining detailed records, managing administrative tasks efficiently, and communicating effectively to ensure steps taken contribute to secure futures for those we serve.

You will be an integral part of a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and commitment to excellence. Your insights in team meetings and strategic discussions will play a key role in directing our services' future.

Working for Haringey

At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce so welcome applications from all ethnicity and communities so that we continue to make a difference to our residents and community.

Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and well-being support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.

About you

Your responsibilities will include in-depth client assessments, crafting safety plans, and providing critical advice on a range of issues from accommodation to health and immigration status. Leveraging your knowledge of relevant legislation, you will work both independently and collaboratively to facilitate timely and successful transitions to stable living situations for our clients.

Joining our team means embarking on a career path filled with personal and professional growth opportunities. Your dedication to making a tangible difference will be matched by our support for your development, ensuring our combined efforts continue to offer unparalleled support to those in need.

If you are motivated by the challenge of making an impact, possess the compassion to serve empathetically, and are driven to be part of a team dedicated to facilitating real change, we encourage you to apply for the position of Assessment & Move-On Worker. Let's work together to create lasting pathways to stability.
