Senior Womenswear Designer - Jersey Multi-Product

Full Time / 1 Year Fixed Term Contract - Office Based

North London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Womenswear Designer across Jersey Multi-Product with a leading high street supplier to Topshop, New Look and Next. Joining a team with a blend of creative minds and industry experts dedicated to producing the latest in commercial fashion!

You will naturally show passion for high street fashion with an understanding of current trends and consideration for the customers’ needs.

Senior Womenswear Designer Role:

Seeking a talented and creative Senior Womenswear Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing their creativity and flair for Jersey Multi-Product. This role involves leading design projects from concept through to production, ensuring collections are fresh, on trend and commercial.

Senior Womenswear Designer Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of womenswear collections, keeping in line with the latest trends
  • Works well with a design team to conceptualise and create innovative designs for various categories including jersey multi-product: dresses, tops and bottoms.
  • Oversee the entire design process – from mood boards, sketches, fabric selection, to final garment fitting must have Strong presentation skills 
  • Work closely with the Sales team to ensure designs are executed to a high standard and cost implications 
  • Research and propose new trends, fabrics, techniques, and design innovations
  • Liaise with sales teams to ensure product alignment with market demands and product strategy
  • Mentor and guide junior designers and interns, fostering a collaborative and creative environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in womenswear fashion design
  • Strong portfolio showcasing projects in women's jersey
  • Proficiency in fashion design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CAD)
  • In-depth knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment construction
  • Exceptional creativity and a keen eye for colour, texture, and fabrics 
  • Strong understanding of the fashion market and consumer behaviour
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
