The Opportunity 
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Project Engineer to join a well-established team, supporting a time critical infrastructure project. You will have direct liaison with the Project Manager, delivering on responsibilities safely and to agreed quality, cost and schedule.

The role 
Be responsible for supporting Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule activities required on the Enabling Works project to ensure timely completion of all works.

This role has been deemed outside of IR35.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
  • Be working within a team and will therefore need to show leadership qualities, both within the department and generally across site.
  • Be required to maintain effective communication between relevant internal / external parties including PU, Engineering, Construction and Procurement / Contracts.
  • Support the Project Assurance process.
  • Work with the PM to ensure relevant safety / design reviews are carried out as required, and that any issues raised are closed out in a timely manner.
  • Support development of Project schedules.
  • Where required make engineering decisions and support their implementation on the project.
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering work which is compliant with the requirements of the project.
  • Support the PM in delivering the agreed execution strategies for engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, commissioning etc. with the relevant internal / external parties.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement / innovation and drive continuous improvement within the project
You will have the following qualifications & experience
  • Significant prior experience of Project Engineering on medium / large capital projects.
  • Proven understanding of technical quality and safety.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate technical risk on projects.
  • Have an understanding procurement processes and Intellectual Property.
  • Have an understanding of statutory and safety / environmental regulations and their appropriate utilisation.
It’s great if you also have the following
  • Degree qualified mechanical engineer.
  • Significant prior experience of Project Engineering in the process industries ideally oil & gas or water utilities.
  • Experience in leading some aspects of commissioning.
  • Experience of large-scale maintenance / TAR events.
