About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Apprentice to join us at Haringey. The role is an exciting opportunity to learn all the skills and gain experience in an administrative and project support position. Whist gaining vital experience for your future career, you will also be helping the Commissioning and Programmes team to achieve its goals to improve how we deliver services for children, young people and families in Haringey.
What is the role?

  • You will be working to support a project team to achieve their aims and objectives, by providing vital administrative and research support. Our programme of work covers a variety of current projects, such as building new children’s homes, recruiting more foster carers, setting up brand new community hubs, supporting the borough’s fostering community, and providing more special education support, just to name a few. 
  • The projects you will work on will expose you to working in partnership, communication, report writing, project planning and delivery.
  • You will support on work and decisions that influence the direction of the council,from relevant Operational and Executive boards, Cabinet members and partner organisations. 
  • You will have the chance to develop an understanding of public spending and how to identify the most efficient use of the budget.

  • Be comfortable working across multiple areas of work, managing your priorities to support colleagues effectively.

Skills, Attributes and Experience

  • Educated to degree level, or Level 3 standard (A-levels, access to higher education diploma, advanced apprenticeship etc) with relevant work experience in a project management setting.
  • Interest in or understanding of the issues relating to children services and/or local government.
  • Good research and analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, whether written or verbal, including an ability to convey important information clearly to various audiences.
  • An understanding and appreciation of the diverse networks of people you will work with and a commitment to maintaining good relationships.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Flexible and capable of remaining motivated when set a task or objective.
  • Ability/experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
