Are you an experienced and passionate educator with a background in Sociology and Psychology? Are you ready to take on a leadership role and inspire both students and colleagues alike? Join us as the Head of Sociology and Psychology Teacher at our schools in Harlow and lead the way in shaping the future of social sciences education, starting immediately.

As the Head of Sociology and Psychology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop the sociology and psychology department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students. Your role will involve leading by example, mentoring and supporting colleagues, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive departmental culture.

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking individual who is passionate about social sciences education and committed to driving excellence in teaching and learning. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering outstanding lessons in sociology and psychology and a strong vision for the development of the department.

As the Head of Sociology and Psychology Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of an innovative and engaging curriculum in sociology and psychology.
  • Providing leadership and direction to departmental staff, including mentoring and supporting colleagues in their professional development.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching and learning within the department, implementing strategies for improvement as needed.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to set departmental goals and priorities, and contributing to whole-school initiatives and strategies.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and external stakeholders to support the success of the department and its students.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator, and a strong leader with a passion for social sciences education. A relevant teaching qualification and experience in a leadership role are essential.
