JOB TITLE :   SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER - CHILDREN'S SERVICES

LOCATION :    COVENTRY

HOURS      :     FULL TIME - MONDAY TO FRIDAY

PURPOSE OF ROLE

As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a pivotal role in the Children’s Services team. You will be responsible for leading and managing complex cases, providing expert guidance, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality social work practice.

Working with children aged 0 to 18 years, with complex care plans, and this can include areas of court work around discharge of care orders. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on complex case management, ensuring all interventions are in the best interests of the child.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior social workers and support staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in Social Work and registration with [Relevant Social Work Body].
  • Extensive experience in children’s social work, including child protection and care proceedings.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and develop others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to child-centered practice and multi-agency collaboration. fantastic skills of engaging children and young people to participate in their care planning, Social Workers in our team also need skills in safeguarding investigations and assessment

Our client can offer robust management support and regular monthly supervision, regular team meetings and weekly group check-ins.
