£400 - £600/day

Our Client is looking for a principal building control officer to join them on a short term contract. As a principal building control officer you will be responsible to assist the Building Control Manager in the effective management of the Building Control function & contribute towards the objectives of the division, whilst working within a competitive market. And to assist the Building Control Manager with enforcement action to ensure delivery of the Council's obligations under the Building Act & associated legislation.

Key responsibilities:

  • To assist the Building Control Manager in running the Building Control section.
  • To check applications & work on site and carry out enforcement action where necessary
  • To provide technical advice on all matters relating to the Building Control function & associated legislation.
  • To check demolition notices, dangerous structures, initial notices & unauthorised works.

You will need:

  • Must be a full member of the RICS, CABE, or equivalent & have considerable recent experience working as an operational Building Control Inspector within a Building Control Unit. Must have a degree or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of building control regulations & understanding of building operations on all types of buildings within your level of registration.
  • Full UK driver's licence
