Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in the London Borough of Bromley is recruiting for a Cover Supervisor in English who has experience offering English lessons. Full time contract role to start immediately.

Popular & Creative Pupil Referral Unit which caters to SEMH/ASD & Behaviour pupils.  Outstanding SLT, SEN Teachers, Unqualified Teachers, Behaviour Support Staff and overall team. The teaching staff at this PRU have been graded minimally “Good” within lesson observations. 

Exciting opportunity for a Cover Supervisor who can primarily focus on English lessons.  You will be delivering English lessons at both KS3 to GCSE levels on a 1:1 basis & in small groups (maximum of 7 pupils per class).   Additionally, this Alternative Provision offers English functional skills as well as English language classes. The successful Cover Supervisor will be planning & delivering fun and engaging lessons to your SEN pupils.  You will also be great at de-escalating behavioural difficulties, empathetic, resilient and dedicated to ensuring your pupils are the best versions of themselves

  • Have worked as either a Cover Supervisor or unqualified English Teacher or English instructor
  • You have experience delivering this subject at both KS3 - GCSE 
  • Experience working with students with behavioural SEN; ie SEMH / ADD/ ODD/ ADHD/ Autism  PDA / Anxiety etc.
  • You have great experience working in either a mainstream Secondary School / PRU/ Alternative Provision / SEN School 
  • Passionate about working with students with Special Education Needs
  • Can successfully build a strong rapport with children.
  • Able to easily travel to the London Borough of Bromley
  • You have an Enhanced DBS with the update service.
