An outstanding Special Educational Needs College located in Sutton, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join their team.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing one-on-one support and assistance to college students with SEND. Your role will involve helping them access the curriculum, develop essential life skills, and foster their independence.

The college is dedicated to providing high-quality education and support to young people and adults with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Their mission is to empower our students and help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

For this SEN College Learning Support Assistant role, you will:

  • Work closely with students on an individual basis or in small groups to provide tailored support.
  • Assist students in accessing and participating in lessons and activities.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage independence and self-confidence in students with SEND.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor and report on students' progress and well-being.

The requirements for this role are:

  • Experience of working, caring, or volunteering with individuals who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity.
  • Background checks and an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
