Senior Infrastructure Project Manager required by my government client. You MUST Have current SC or DV Clearence to be considered for this role.

Elements of this infrastructure, e.g. Compute, LAN and WAN are end of life and require urgent replacement.  It has been agreed that new isolated environments will be built and will run in parallel to existing environments until all workloads have been migrated. Much of the hardware has already been purchased and is awaiting completion of detailed end-to-end design activities prior to installation & build, and configuration & migration work. The project will be delivered using a combination of in-house resources and strategic suppliers.

The project contains several workstreams due to various originating funding sources, however, each workstream and associated interdependencies contributes to one overall strategic delivery.  Funding is secured and engagement with strategic partners is in initial stages.

As key services are running on of end-of-life platforms, the project is seeking delivery of a number of ‘quick wins’ to run in parallel with the overall project delivery, to ensure confidence and trust is restored within the business community and Project Stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and built trust with stakeholders, including Senior Management, technical resources, vendors, and external partners, to ratify project requirements and designs, establish priorities, and manage expectations throughout the project lifespan.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies, to guide the successful execution of each initiative within the project.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure team members understand their roles, responsibilities, and project objectives.
  • Pro-actively monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders, providing regular updates, reports, and presentations to communicate project status, milestones, and achievements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and internal departments to ensure infrastructure designs and implementations adhere to security policies, standards, industry best practices and the expectations of the Project Sponsor.
  • Ensure that designs, solutions, and outputs adhere to the organisation's security and service delivery governance processes and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance evaluation, and issue resolution, to ensure vendors deliver on their commitments on time to support project objectives.
  • Identify and deliver quick wins to maintain momentum and demonstrate progress across workstreams.
  • Deal effectively with demanding customers, resolving conflicts and ensuring their needs are met while remaining aligned with project objectives.
  • Be responsive to changing priorities, adjusting project plans and resource allocations as needed to address evolving requirements and objectives.
  • Take proactive measures to recover workstreams to a position of control, including reassessing strategies, allocation of resources, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure that interdependencies, both within and external to, the project are proactively identified and managed.
