Supervisor

Location: Mainly site based at locations across Essex

Full Time: 45 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract: 10 months

Reporting to Engineer, Schedular & Project Lead you will provide a consistent, visible site presence supervising our Supply Chain Partners (Subcontractors) in the delivery of a variety of schemes throughout Essex.

As Supervisor, your focus will be on monitoring Safety, Quality and Environmental performance of the Subcontractor, while keeping accurate written and photographic records of site activities.

This position is in the Member Highways Initiative team. Acting as Principal Contractor, this team delivers a member led maintenance programme comprising of Footway & Carriageway defect repairs.

This role will utilise your knowledge and experience to ensure works are safely delivered, to a high standard of quality, on programme and on budget, and ensuring compliance with company policies, current legislation and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise allocated works to supply chain partners
  • Ensure that projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget
  • Ensure that all projects comply with Health and Safety Regulations and CDM requirements
  • Follow Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Procedures at all times
  • Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements and COSHH
  • Complete Site Inductions and issue Permits to Work
  • Complete regular HSEQ audits and raise Safety Concerns and Near Misses
  • Resolve / escalate Technical Queries
  • Report changes on site to the Agent / Team Leader
  • Produce daily site diaries with photographs
  • Monitor and record labour, plant and materials
  • Monitor and record deliveries and waste transfers

About You

  • Experience working in the construction industry, preferably Highways.
  • Proficient in Supervision of Construction sites.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to travel throughout Essex required (full driving license preferred).
  • Displays a demonstrable focus on safety.
  • Able to plan, organise and prioritise own workload.
  • Adopts a systematic and logical approach to tasks.
  • Works to a high specification to maintain and where possible improve quality.
  • Able to absorb and impart factual information to others.
  • Confident in both written and verbal communication.
  • Driven to achieve results in a friendly manner but also maintain quality and standards.
  • Displays flexibility and adaptability when faced with difficult circumstances and continuously strives to achieve a positive result.
