Job Summary: Swanstaff are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Class 1 Driver to join our team in Codford. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of agricultural products and equipment using Class 1 vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operate Class 1 vehicles, such as articulated lorries and tractor-trailer combinations, to transport agricultural goods to designated locations.
  2. Plan delivery routes and schedules to optimize efficiency and ensure timely deliveries to customers and farms.
  3. Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transportation.
  4. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  5. Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while driving and operating the vehicle.
  6. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, invoices, and delivery notes.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining professional and courteous communication with customers and colleagues.
  8. Assist with warehouse tasks and inventory management when not driving, as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) driver's license with a clean driving record.
  2. Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) qualification.
  3. Proven experience as a Class 1 driver, preferably in the agricultural or transportation industry.
  4. Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
  5. Ability to handle and maneuver heavy goods and equipment with precision and care.
  6. Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and execute delivery routes effectively.
  7. Effective communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday
  • Regular working hours with occasional overtime and weekend work as needed
