NHS Dual Diagnosis Recovery Navigator – North London

Belmont recruitment are looking to speak with experienced substance misuse and mental health workers to work at various services located within the borough of Harringay, mainly based at St Ann’s Hospital within the NHS as a dual diagnosis recovery navigator.

The main duties will be to provide a liaison between mental health teams, substance misuse teams, and other providers, such as Supported Housing Providers and Rough Sleeper Outreach Teams providers. The dual diagnosis post will focus on delivering structured psychosocial interventions including harm reduction/minimization strategies to those that were previously unable to access services by removing current barriers into treatment. This will reduce the potential for increased substance use and mental health related crisis, repeat homelessness, evictions, and long-term reliance on statutory services.

Key responsibilities;

You will be responsible for carrying out screening and triage to develop treatment plans, hold and manage caseload of clients, assist partner agencies, design and implement treatment plans for the clients mental health and substance misuse issues, deliver structured psychosocial interventions including harm reduction/minimization strategies, motivational interviewing, CBT programs, problem solving, behavioral interventions and counselling techniques as negotiated with individual service users and 1.16. To understand the theory and implications of BBV infections and TB for the client group and conduct DBS testing plus liaise appropriately with nursing colleagues within SMS and MH services; Also, to understand the rationale for UDS (urine drug screening) and breath alcohol testing and conduct/arrange such testing as necessary.

Details;

-The working hours are full time, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.

-Enhanced DBS needed on update service.

-Paying £20p/h.

This contract is most likely for 6+ months but is currently in the approval stage for that time scale.
