We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technicians/Electrical Rolling Stock Technicians to carry out maintenance on Rolling stock based out of the company’s depot in Newcastle.

This role is a 6 – 8 month contract with possible extension and has an attractive rate (Ph) of £30.62 LTD

The role is working an average 36 hour week on a shift roster covering mainly Nights, with only 3 days worked per week!

Ex forces, Automotive , Aircraft, Rolling Stock and other transferable industries will be considered


Your Tasks
  • Carry out preventative maintenance programmes on a variety of rolling stock and Depot infrastructure repairs/maintenance.
  • Programmes include duty checks, inspections according to examination sheets, component changes and overhaul of various rolling stock parts - where trained assessed and deemed competent
  • Investigate faults on voltages ranging from 1500V dc down to electronics voltages.
  • Investigate faults on Electrical, pneumatic and other components as required/instructed in line with core discipline.
  • Refurbishment and modification of rolling stock including the replacement and upgrading of components and systems.
  • Carry out component overhauls as instructed when trained and deemed competent to do so.

Your Profile
Essential: 
  • Recognized Electrical Apprenticeship or Level 3 equivalent Qualification
  • Able to carry out routine planned and preventative maintenance
  • Able to overhaul electro-mechanical equipment
  • Able to carry out fault investigations
  • Able to read electrical drawings
 
Successful candidates will be required to pass a Medical D&A prior to commencing any work
