Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Salary: £85 - £95 per day

Are you a resilient and confident individual with a passion for making a positive impact on students' lives? GSL Education London has an exciting opportunity for a Behaviour Support Assistant in Hackney.

The school is structured to aid students removed from mainstream education, aiming for their successful reintegration. We primarily address behaviour-related issues but also assist emotionally and/or vulnerable students who have been absent from education for an extended period. With class sizes typically ranging from 6 to 8 students, we facilitate personalised attention and tailored interventions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with diverse needs, including EHCPs.
  • Cultivate an inclusive learning atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to tackle behavioural issues.
  • Involve students in activities fostering holistic development.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Maintain composure and focus amidst challenges.
  • Display confidence to engage and motivate students.
  • Recognise individual student challenges and offer tailored support.
  • Ready to manage verbal aggression without emotional reactions.

Additional Information:

  • Proficient in smaller class settings for tailored instruction.
  • Role may entail verbal abuse and personal remarks; thus, resilience and composure are vital.
