  • Hybrid, As and when required.
  • 12-Month Contract
  • Negotiable rate of pay Inside IR35
  • 36 Hours Per week

About the Role:

The Energy Division at ARM is currently the Principal Civil Engineer to join a Nuclear Defence company.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare and/or check designs, analyses, reports, drawings, specifications, and other documents related to plant, facility, and equipment within licensed sites.
  • Participate in problem-solving for technical solutions and new designs.
  • Manage design work packages appointed by the Discipline Lead and provide regular progress reporting.
  • Supervise and guide junior staff, utilising Learn from Experience information for continuous development.
  • Support the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities to ensure compliance with design intent and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders such as Engineers, Safety Case Engineers, Project Managers, and Design Authority for project deliverable and technical issues resolution.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer registered with Engineering Council or working towards chartership.
  • Knowledge of seismic codes, architectural design, and construction techniques for nuclear safety-related structures.
  • Experience in technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with relevant design codes and nuclear safety standards.
  • Strong project management, budgeting, and risk assessment skills.
  • Proficiency in engineering office computer applications and design support for construction projects.
  • Mandatory course completion in Site Induction, Fire Safety, Diversity, Data Protection, and other relevant topics.
